When I was planning my trip in Krabi, Thailand I wanted to make sure that I was able to do the “typical” tourist spots as well as some of the off the beaten path adventures. It didn’t take long for Krabi Sunset Cruises to come up once I started looking. The cruise isn’t just about sitting back and relaxing, there are a ton of chances for you to get out and explore the islands and waters of Thailand. I figured I wouldn’t venture off the boat, but either way I wanted to do it.
Cruise Activities
One of the first things mentioned when the cruise started were all of the stops we’d be making. The crew really wanted to make sure everyone knew their options for getting the most out of each stop. Right from the beginning it felt like it would be the best trip in Krabi. You could grab a kayak, snorkel gear, stand up paddles boards… whatever you wanted to use to explore the waters. I was still totally okay with staying put on the boat. But then, someone says that we can JUMP from the upper deck into the water.
The Leap of a Lifetime
Heights are one of my top fears. I get nervous about looking out apartment windows that are on the third floor. Right after “absolutely no way” ran through my head a few people said they were in. It looked unreal! The crew took a video of everyone when they jumped for what would likely be an Instagram highlight of the year for them. Those brave enough to do a backflip got a free cocktail after to celebrate.
All right, that’s pretty cool. Maybe I am down? I mean, I’m on a trip in Krabi Thailand, having the cruise of a lifetime… why not? So I get on the upper deck and completely psych myself out. My legs are already shaking. What was I thinking?! I’ve never jumped off of anything before. That’s when the rest of the people on the cruise helped me out.
After plenty of pep talks from those who jumped before me I made up my mind and jumped before I could change it. BEST. FEELING. EVER. I am so happy I set aside my fears and enjoyed this cruise to the absolute fullest. It was a phenomenal feeling. After the jump I kicked back and enjoyed a celebratory drink while posting the video of me jumping. There’s no way any of my friends would believe I did this without proof!

I still can’t believe I got to jump off the upper deck of a Chinese Junk ship into the Andaman Sea. The crew makes this experience so much more than a cruise. You have a chance to explore the waters around every island you stop at. It’s a nonstop day of exploring one of the prettiest parts of Thailand. This was an experience of a lifetime and I’m so happy I took the leap!
