A Life By The Sea<\/h2>\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t

Krabi Sunset Cruises started quite casually when the opportunity to buy a boat came our way, and we haven\u2019t looked back since. Brother and sister duo Michael and Carolyn, originally from Sydney, Australia, found themselves in Thailand following different paths. Carolyn moved to Railay Beach in 2008 after what was meant to be a two-week holiday. Drawn by the area’s charm, she stayed, swapping her career in finance and venture philanthropy for a life by the sea. <\/span><\/p>

Michael followed in 2010, initially visiting for Carolyn\u2019s wedding to Laan, a Railay local. At the time, he was planning to move to Europe, having become tired of life in Sydney as a rope access technician. But, as it happens with many who come to Railay, he never left.<\/span><\/p>\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t<\/section>\n\t\t\t\t

We both had experience in the travel industry, and in 2012, we joined forces with our Thai family to launch Krabi Sunset Cruises. What started with an unexpected opportunity to buy a boat has since blossomed into a highly rated and sought-after tour company. Our cruises offer the perfect blend of relaxation and adventure, from high-end sunset tours to gourmet breakfast experiences, along with private hire options for those looking for something more exclusive.<\/span><\/p>

Having lived all over the world, Thailand is now our home, and we\u2019re proud to share its beauty with travelers from near and far. Pi Mee has been with us for nearly 10 years now \u2014 longer than anyone else on the crew, and honestly, we wouldn’t be where we are today without him.<\/p>

Before joining us, Pi Mee spent years working as a fisherman, often heading out to sea for months at a time. He isn’t just the boat driver. He can pretty much do any of the jobs on the boat. From taking customers snorkeling, making cocktails, paddleboard safety and fixing anything wrong with the engine. Pi Mee feels like family to us, and to a lot of our regular guests too. If you’ve been on one of our tours, there’s a good chance he’s a big part of why it went so smoothly.<\/p>\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t<\/section>\n\t\t\t\t

Gun has been part of our crew for years now, and if you’ve ever had a cocktail on board, there’s a good chance he made it.<\/p>

As our barman and deckhand, Gun keeps things running smoothly on deck and behind the bar in equal measure \u2014 pouring drinks, keeping an eye on the boat, and somehow always knowing exactly when someone’s ready for their next round.<\/p>

One thing you won’t catch him doing, though? Getting in the water. Gun is very happy to stay right where he is, shaker in hand, while everyone else swims and snorkels \u2014 and honestly, we wouldn’t have it any other way. Someone’s got to make sure the drinks are ready when you climb back aboard.<\/p>\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t

Nong Bae is Pi Mee’s son, and growing up around the boat, it’s fair to say this is in his blood.<\/p>

He wears a few hats on board \u2014 deckhand, barman, and the one keeping watch over everyone in the water. At every snorkeling stop, you’ll find Nong Bae out on a paddleboard, keeping an eye on the group and making sure everyone’s safe. If you’re getting tired, he’ll paddle over and ferry you back to the boat rather than let you struggle the whole way out there.<\/p>

He’s also the crew’s resident practical joker, so don’t be surprised if you end up on the receiving end of one of his pranks at some point during the day. Between the family connection and the mischief, Nong Bae is very much part of what makes a day with us feel less like a tour and more like hanging out with friends.<\/p>\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t<\/section>\n\t\t\t\t

Pi Pae has been one of our tour guides for many years now, taking care of water safety and guiding guests over the reef. In that time, he’s taken thousands of people snorkeling \u2014 for a lot of them, it’s the very first time they’ve ever done it.<\/p>

He’s endlessly patient with nervous first-timers, and has a knack for making the water feel a lot less intimidating once you’re actually in it with him. Ask anyone who’s snorkeled with Pi Pae and they’ll tell you the same thing: by the end, they didn’t want to get back on the boat.<\/p>

Fadil has been part of our crew for a couple of years now, working as one of our tour guides and keeping an eye on water safety throughout the day. He’s made a name for himself as the guy who always knows exactly where to look.<\/p>

He genuinely loves taking snorkelers out over the reef, pointing out marine life and making sure everyone’s safe in the water along the way \u2014 but his real specialty is blacktip reef sharks. Fadil has an uncanny knack for finding them, so if seeing one is on your bucket list, sticking close to him in the water is your best bet.<\/p>
