We’re incredibly proud to share that our Krabi 4 Island Sunset Snorkelling Cruise & Bioluminescent Swim has been recognised with Trip Advisor’s Travellers’ Choice Best of the Best 2026 award<\/a>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Based on reviews from millions of travellers around the world, the award places our tour among the top 1% of experiences worldwide. For a small, local team operating from Krabi, it’s something we never take for granted (you should have seen how many of our friends we messaged when we got the news!)<\/p>\n\n\n\n

But perhaps the question we’re asked most often isn’t what we won. It’s why. The award has made us reflect on the conversations we have on board almost every day. After welcoming thousands of visitors visiting Ao Nang, Railay, Krabi, travelling from across the world, we’ve learnt a lot about what people expect before they step onto the boat (and sometimes what surprises them most once they’re out on the water.)<\/p>\n\n\n\n

So rather than simply celebrating the award, we thought we’d share a few of those insights.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

What is Tripadvisor Best of the Best?<\/h2>\n\n\n\n

Tripadvisor’s Travellers’ Choice Best of the Best is the highest recognition awarded by the popular travel platform.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Unlike awards judged by a panel, these rankings are based on genuine traveller reviews collected over a 12-month period. Every rating, comment and recommendation contributes to the final result, making it one of the most trusted travel awards in the industry.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Being recognised as one of the world’s best experiences means more to us because it comes directly from the people who’ve joined us on board. At the time of writing this, we’ve had almost 2000 reviews! <\/p>\n\n\n\n

What makes this Sunset Cruise in Krabi different? The biggest surprise for first-time visitors<\/h2>\n\n\n\n

There are plenty of opportunities for Krabi island hopping, so what makes this one different?<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Our tour isn’t designed to tick off as many islands as possible before rushing everyone back to shore. Instead, we’ve built the itinerary around stops and times that work best for our guests. Each day can be a little different, and so our guide Michael and team will tailor your trip to that conditions that day, steering you away from spots during peak times and dropping anchor in places where you’ll find the best snorkelling. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

When people book a sunset cruise in Krabi, they’re often comparing island itineraries, snorkelling stops and prices. But what they (often) don’t always think about is the boat itself.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

One of the biggest surprises for first-time guests is just how much space there is on board our ship. Unlike the speedboats and smaller long-tail boats used for many Krabi island hopping tours, our traditional wooden junk boat was always made for a more comfortable journey.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

In fact, it’s currently the only traditional junk boat operating tours on this side of Thailand.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

That extra space makes a real difference. There are shaded areas to escape the midday heat, open deck space for soaking up the views, and plenty of room to stretch out between snorkelling stops. It also means guests aren’t packed shoulder-to-shoulder, something that regularly comes up in reviews from travellers who have experienced busier tours elsewhere.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

It’s one of the reasons another question we’re asked so often is\u2026<\/p>\n\n\n\n

“Will I Get Seasick?”<\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n\n\n\n

If you’ve never joined a boat tour before, it’s a perfectly reasonable concern. The larger size of the boat means the journey generally feels steadier than many smaller vessels, particularly on days when there’s a bit more movement on the water. Guests also have the freedom to move around and even lie down if they need a moment to relax.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Of course, no one can promise you’ll never feel seasick. Sea conditions change every day and everyone experiences them differently.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Finally, we have proper toilet facilities. While this might sound mundane, it actually comes up surprisingly often in reviews of our boat trips. A full afternoon on a boat can cause worry for a lot of day-trippers if toilet stops are on someone else’s time, particularly for families with young children.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Why this is one of the best boat tours in Krabi \u2026 what do travellers consistently say about the tour?<\/h2>\n\n\n\n

Reading through our Trip Advisor reviews, the same themes appear again and again.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Guests often mention the relaxed pace of the tour, our friendly crew, the freshly prepared food, the quality of the snorkelling, and the fact that the day never feels rushed. Many expected the sunset to be the highlight, only to find themselves talking about the glowing plankton for the rest of their holiday.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The upper deck is another part of the boat that activity-loving guests naturally gravitate towards. As the sun begins to set, many climb the ropes for an uninterrupted view across the Andaman Sea, or to capture photographs and videos as they attempt backflips with our guides into the water. Having space to choose your own pace is something that’s difficult to replicate on smaller boats.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Swimming with bioluminescent plankton in Krabi<\/h2>\n\n\n\n

For many visitors, our tour in Krabi is their first encounter with bioluminescence. These tiny marine organisms emit flashes of blue light when the water around them is disturbed. Swimming through them after dark creates an effect that photos simply can’t capture (and believe us, we’ve tried!)<\/p>\n\n\n\n

A lot of people want to know if the bioluminescent plankton in Krabi is guaranteed. We’d tell you that if anyone promises you’ll see bright blue water every single night, they’re setting unrealistic expectations. Bioluminescent plankton is a natural phenomenon, and like everything in nature, it changes from one evening to the next. Water conditions, tides, cloud cover and even the brightness of the moon can all affect how visible the glow becomes.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

It’s always there, but it’s not always the electric burst of light that some tours promise. What WE can promise is that we’ll always give you the best possible opportunity to experience it. Our guides have worked on this tour for years, and so they’ll make sure to take you to the darkest spots around Railay to catch a glimpse or even have a swim. On less visible nights, it’s a much more subtle experience, but no less fascinating when you understand what you’re seeing.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

People often ask whether this is better suited to couples, solo travellers, groups, or families. The truth is, it’s a little different for everyone.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
