Most 4 Island Tours in Krabi are designed to visit as many places as possible in a short amount of time, often by speedboat. As a family-run business operating since 2012, at Krabi Sunset Cruises, we’ve taken a different approach.

Our tours are operated on a traditional wooden Siamese junk boat with smaller group sizes, giving guests plenty of space to relax throughout the day. Rather than rushing between islands, we spend longer at each stop so you have more time to swim, snorkel, enjoy the scenery and take everything in.

The experience finishes with a sunset over the Andaman Sea, followed by a bioluminescent plankton swim near Railay’s Phra Nang Beach, making it much more than a standard island hopping tour.

Yes. Our Krabi Sunset Cruise ends with a chance to experience one of nature’s most memorable displays, swimming among bioluminescent plankton near Phra Nang Beach, Railay.

These tiny marine organisms naturally emit a blue glow when the water is disturbed, creating a magical effect as you swim. While bioluminescence is a natural phenomenon and its brightness varies depending on conditions such as the moon phase and water clarity, our experienced crew know the best locations to maximise your chances of seeing it.

Because this is a natural phenomenon, no operator can guarantee how bright the bioluminescence will be on any given evening.

For many guests, this is the highlight of the entire tour and one of the reasons our sunset cruise stands out from a standard 4 Island Tour in Krabi.

Yes. In fact, every week we welcome guests who either can’t swim or simply prefer not to snorkel, and our crew are trained to help those who are nervous in the water or haven’t swum before.

They are always on hand to help guests enter and leave the water safely, and we provide life jackets, flotation aids and snorkelling equipment. If you’d rather stay on board, that’s absolutely fine too. Our spacious wooden Siamese junk boat has plenty of room to relax, enjoy the scenery and take in the views while others snorkel.

Over the years, we’ve helped guests with a wide range of mobility needs enjoy our cruises, including assisting wheelchair users from the beach, via the long-tail boat, and onto our main Siamese junk boat. Every guest’s needs are different, so if you have any questions before booking, we’re always happy to talk through the best way to make your day as comfortable as possible.

Yes. All of our Krabi boat tours include complimentary snacks, fresh fruit and unlimited soft drinks throughout the day, so you don’t need to bring anything on-board (unless you want to.)

If you’re joining our Breakfast Cruise, you’ll enjoy a freshly prepared gourmet breakfast served on board. Guests on our Crucero al atardecer are treated to a Thai buffet dinner as the sun goes down, making it the perfect way to end a day of island hopping around Krabi.

Alcoholic drinks are also available to purchase from our licensed on board bar. If you have any dietary requirements or food allergies, we can cater for most in advance, including vegetarian and vegan and gluten free meals. We can also provide a gluten-free offering, as long as we are told in advance.

No. Our Krabi Sunset Cruise has a relaxed, sociable atmosphere, but it’s not a party boat.

Guests join us to swim, snorkel, enjoy the islands, watch the sunset and spend time with family, friends or fellow travellers in a laid back setting. We play music on board and our licensed bar is open throughout the cruise, but the focus is on enjoying the experience rather than loud parties or heavy drinking.

Many solo travellers tell us they enjoy the friendly atmosphere, while families and couples appreciate that the boat never feels loud or overcrowded.

No. One of the things guests appreciate most about our Krabi boat tours is the amount of space on board.

Although our traditional boat is licensed to carry more passengers, we deliberately limit the number of guests on our public cruises to create a more relaxed and comfortable experience. That means there’s plenty of room to sit, move around the boat, take photos and enjoy the views without feeling crowded. Although our boat is licensed to carry 40 guests we limit it to just 24 for our shared Krabi sunset tour.

Smaller group sizes also mean our crew have more time to get to know guests and provide a more personal level of service throughout the day. It’s one of the reasons many people choose us over larger speedboat tours in Krabi.
