We’re excited to share some big news! Starting at the beginning of the 2056/2026 high-season, Krabi Sunset Cruises began welcoming groups from Contiki (one of the world’s best known youth travel companies) on board our sunset cruises as part of their Thailand itineraries.
Contiki has been introducing young travellers to Thailand for many years, with Krabi and Ao Nang featuring as key stops on their southern island routes. When choosing a local partner for a sunset boat experience, they were looking for a company with strong safety standards, experienced local crews, and a route that showed off the very best of the 4 islands and the Andaman Sea at sunset.
As a family-owned business that has spent years cruising these waters, taking guests to our favourite snorkelling spots and island viewpoints, we’re proud that they chose Krabi Sunset Cruises as one of their tours to look after travellers.

What is the Krabi sunset cruise like on a Contiki tour?
Contiki guests join our Krabi sunset cruise from Ao Nang in the early afternoon from our dedicated pick-up point. From here, we take a short long-tail ride out to the main boat for an afternoon and evening trip that combines island scenery, swimming, paddle boards, snorkelling and relaxed time on the water. After days (or sometimes a couple of weeks) travelling the country on buses, for many travellers, a Krabi sunset cruise from Ao Nang is one of those “this is why I came to Thailand” moments.
Once aboard our traditional junk boat (some people call it a pirate ship) we cruise past limestone cliffs and small islands, stopping for snorkelling in clear, warm sea before heading to our last stop for sunset.
As the sun starts to drop, the cruise slows down, giving everyone the chance to relax on deck, enjoy dinner, take photos, and enjoy the changing colours across the Andaman Sea. Whether they choose to climb the nets to our top deck, or hang out on the main deck, there’s music playing, a friendly social vibe on board, and plenty of space to sit back with a drink and take it all in.
For Contiki groups, it’s a perfect mix of fun and chilled, ideal for meeting new people without the day feeling rushed. The tour is the same experience our independent guests love, and smaller Contiki groups will sometimes join those tours in quieter times so that they can enjoy a more sociable tour.

Is a sunset cruise included on all Contiki Thailand itineraries?
The short answer is no. With so much ground to cover across Thailand, different tours cover different itineraries. As a result, only selected Contiki Thailand trips include a sunset cruise experience in Krabi with us.
Our boat tour is now part of their Southern Thai Highlights Trip, a 7-day adventure starting in Bangkok and finishing in Krabi. A great package for newbies in Thailand, or those who just want to experience the country with other people, it includes 5 Breakfasts, 2 Lunches, 2 Dinners, 3 included experiences, all internal transport and all accommodation.

What boat trip does Contiki use in Krabi for their sunset tours?
Did you ever watch White Lotus Season 3, set in Thailand? If you did, you might have noticed the opening scenes, where they sailed in on a boat with towering red sails – a junk-rigged yacht made to mimic the old junk boats that used to glide across those waters.
At Krabi Sunset Cruises, we have the real deal! An original trading vessel that worked for over 100 years. You can read more about her on our ‘Boat’ page. When the new season launched in February 2025, we were inundated with enquiries from people looking for ‘Thailand White Lotus’ experience. Read about it in our blog: Un viaje en barco junco de vela roja como el de Loto Blanco Temporada 3 Tailandia
It’s this boat that our Krabi Sunset Cruises 4 Island Sunset tours go out on the sea with. The boat has two decks: a main deck with shaded space and ‘in-the-sun’ lounge areas, and a top deck where sun worshippers can lie back and tan. You can find more photos of the boat and its spaces in our Galería.

Why this partnership matters so much to us
For us, welcoming Contiki on board is about more than just working with a well known travel brand. It’s about sharing our home, our sea, and our favourite sunset routes with people from all over the world, and doing it in a way that feels personal. Watch out for more KSC/Contiki photos and video on our Instagram channel.
