Railay Beach, Krabi – What Dreams Are Made Of

There are very few people that would need to think long and hard about whether or not they would go on vacation to Thailand. It’s reasonably priced, has delicious food and warm weather, plus the scenery will take your breath away. But exploring all of Thailand might not be an option for you, so we’ve narrowed it down to the one place with it all – Railay Beach in Krabi. It has everything you could every want from a vacation destination and then some!

A Railay Beach for You

If you’re looking for a vacation that revolves around lounging on a picturesque beach, Railay Beach is your perfect paradise. You have the choice of four beaches to lounge on, including Railay West, Ton Sai Beach, Phra Nang Cave Beach and Railay East.

Railay West

The main beach and where some of the best restaurants and cafes can be found. It is often times busier than the other beaches but has unreal views of the limestone cliffs and is the start of the Walking Street. Most of the island cruises depart and return here throughout the day so it’s definitely a side adventure you should look into!

Ton Sai

It’s much quieter than the other beaches because the close reefs and shallow water deter people from swimming and snorkeling. Rock climbing is one of the most popular activities for this beach with a variety of climbs from 5 to 8c difficulty.

Phra Nang Cave Beach

Near the southern tip of the peninsula, it’s more popular than Railay West during high season because it offers everything. There’s shallow, crystal clear water that’s perfect for swimming, two small nearby islands and caves to explore.

Railay East

A narrow beach that’s home to many local fishing boats. While it might not look similar to the other beaches, this is where the parties happen during high season. The care-free vibe is enjoyed by everyone while music is blasting and fruity cocktails are being made. Tew Lay, Joy’s and The Last Bar are only some of the few hot spots along the strip you can stop at.

Into the Jungle

The beaches offer some of the best views and nightlife in Thailand, along with tons of adventures from rock climbing and shopping to exploring the waters. But what if you want to change things up? Well, Railay Beach, Krabi isn’t just about beaches!

If you’re in for leg day, hiking to the Hidden Lagoon and Railay Beach Viewpoint is for you. It’s very important to note that this is NOT for everyone! The “hike” is more of a climb and is quite treacherous (especially to the hidden lagoon). When you reach the top of the viewpoint you’re rewarded with some amazing views of the area. If you found the climb to the viewpoint manageable then you could consider continuing to the hidden lagoon.

The hidden lagoon looks like something straight out of a movie. Take a look at these pictures to see for yourself! The difficulty in getting there also means it’s never crowded. Allot at least two hours for the hike to both spots (ensuring you’ll be back before sunset).

By now you can understand why Railay Beach, Krabi is what dreams are made of. The beaches are known world-wide for their beauty and offer so many other adventures! It’s the perfect destination for every traveler and will always leave you wanting more.
