Reach New Heights in Krabi, Thailand

For most, Thailand is a vacation destination to chill on a beach all day while soaking up the sun. However, rock climbers will instantly think of the hundreds of climbing hotspots they want to hit up. Huge limestone cliffs are an iconic part of Krabi’s scenery and if you look closely, you’ll likely spot a few people scaling the giant landmarks. If this sparks your interest for a possible climbing adventure, then you’re in the right place! We’re sharing some of the top climbing spots in Krabi, Thailand along with other must-do bucket list activities.

Krabi, Thailand – Beginner Friendly

Even if you’re never rock climbed before, this can be your chance to try it out! This is a great place to learn how to rock climb. There are plenty of rock climbing schools that teach you the basics and you have the option of doing a group tour. You’ll always have someone nearby if you need any help or encouragement. While there are many options for beginner and intermediate climbers, there are also plenty of challenging climbs for pros.

Be Prepared

Unlike lounging on the beach with a fruity cocktail, rock climbing is physically demanding. It’s quite the workout, so make sure you’re comfortable with that required level of strength and fitness. If you’re going through a rock climbing school and guided tour, they’ll provide you with all the safety equipment that you’ll need. Although most people opt to climb without socks in their climbing shoes, for the rentals, you might want to wear a thin anklet sock for hygienic reasons.

Sunglasses aren’t mandatory, but with a lot of direct sunshine, they might be a good idea. Climbing all the way up a cliff and not being able to see the amazing view because the sun is in your eyes would be a bummer.

If you want to snap some photos, then bring a compact camera, or your smart phone. To avoid loss or damage make sure it’s in a durable case, and securely fastened to your harness. Attach a GoPro to your helmet if you you want an epic video to share later!
